NEW Huda Beauty Rose Gold Remastered; Review + Swatches

Yesterday was a very good day in terms of deliveries because it meant that I received this wonderful bundle of joy sooner than I had expected! Cult Beauty isn't the fastest when it comes to delivering your parcels are they, especially when you take up the free standard shipping as I'm usually waiting a week however this arrived in just 2 days!!!

A few days ago, Huda Beauty launched their Rose Gold Palette REMASTERED version which is an upgrade to her very first one. Despite it being a sell out, Huda believed that it could've been made better due to the formulas apparently not being as good quality as her others. I didn't purchase the original Rose Gold Palette however I do have the Desert Dusk aswell as some of her Mini Obsessions Palettes and I love them. The formulas are great but for some reason Rose Gold just didn't really appeal to me but this on the other hand...well when I saw it, I knew it had to be snatched up ASAP rocky.

Packaging: Can we just take a moment to appreciate the packaging? If you had recently been on my Insta, I posted a picture of loads of packaging that I had kept because I'm a hoarder. I mean, I just can't seem to part with real pretty boxes and this is going to be one of them, I didn't want to take the product out! The outer box is of a beautiful copper metallic colour with her logo on and embossed roses. When you have finished drooling over that and take the palette out, you're greeted by a beautiful picture of Huda herself surrounded by roses with, again, her logo branded on the case. She has kept with her theme of having a lovely metallic shift highlighting certain points of the picture - amazing! She had also listened to peoples comments because she has included another really good mirror like Desert Dusk which is a bonus.

Shade Range: In this palette features 18 eyeshadows in 4 ready to layer textures: 8 x matte shades, 8 x metal shades, 1 x jet black which you can use wet or dry and 1 x highlighting pressed pearl shade. I cannot explain to you how pretty these shades are! My favourite shades have got to be Pink Diamond, Bubbly and Maneater. The melted metal shades are: Dubai, Fling, Trust Fund, Rose Gold, Pink Diamond, 24K, #Blessed, and Bubbly -  a shimmering metallic champagne shade whereas the pressed pearl shade is Moon Dust which is ideal for the inner corner or brow bone highlight.

Formulas: According to others, her previous palettes textured shadows were quite crumbly making it hard for you to use a brush. Huda listened to that feedback which is part of the reason why she switched it up. The metal foil shades have been re-invented so you are able to use a brush but if you want more of a liquid metal finish, then your finger is still advised. I'm not going to lie to you but I still don't think you're able to pick these shadows up with your brush that well, it didn't transfer properly except from Pink Diamond which is such a buttery formula so that one was fine - but I'm okay with that, I don't mind using my fingers to be able to get the ultimate pigmentation. The matte shades are SO EASY to work with it's a joke. I mean, the formula on these ones are better than her other palettes for sure. Soon as I got in from work, I played around with this palette and created an eye look so quickly because they blended together seamlessly. You only need a small amount on your brush as each shade is hella pigmented but be warned that ya girl does provide kickback which is expected with shadows like this.

Swatches L-R: #Blessed, Moon Dust, Bubbly, 24K, Pink Diamond, Rose Gold, Trust Fund, Fling, Dubai

Swatched L-R: Black Truffle, Suede, Coco, Maneater, Henna, Sandalwood, Risque, Doll Face, Demure

Verdict: This is my new favourite product from Huda for sure!! I'm so in love and so so glad I purchased. I'm not gonna lie, it is quite an expensive product however it's definitely worth the pennies if you can splash. Everything from the beautiful packaging, the metallics and the matte shades are just unreal. You can create a various looks from daytime straight into night which means it's got versatility therefore it's a palette that is worth it. I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of this, probably more so than Desert Dusk but I believe the formulas are better in this one. Hats off to you again Huda, you've done a great job. You can purchase for £56 at CultBeauty (here) or Selfridges in the UK.

Have you purchased this palette? Do you prefer this one or her previous Rose Gold palette? Let me know your thoughts but until then, thank you for reading!

  1. The colours really are beautiful! I was trying to not buy this as I have the Desert Dusk but now I'm really tempted...
