Latest in the Drugstore Stash

I'm kind of on a spending ban at the moment as I'm saving up to move house so there have been a lack of reviews on my blog HOWEVER I couldn't resist picking up a few minor bits when I went into Superdrug/Boots the other week so thought I would just share with you what I got...

  • Live XL Ultra Brights Steel Silver 08 - People always ask me what I use on my hair and voila... I use a few other products mind but this is the actual hair dye that I use and it's under a fiver! It says semi permanent on the box but I think it really depends on your own hair. Mine has been bleached for years and I still bleach my roots but I think because of that and the violet toning shampoo I use, it doesn't wash out as quick. It literally gives me the perfect silver coloured hair although sometimes it's a mixture between lilac/silver/grey which I do really like and I seem to receive a fair few compliments on. If you want a full in depth blog post of the stage of how I do my hair and the products I use then let me know because I would deffo be up for that! RRP £4.49
  • Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer - I only picked this up as it was 3 for 2 make up in Superdrug but I've seen a few people rave about it. It has a silicone texture to it and it does a similiar job as the Touch in Sol-No poreblem primer when it comes to blurring out your pores and making your skin feel super silky ready for application. In terms of helping my make up stay on for longer, I don't feel it helps that well in that sense but I'm going to continue testing it out with different foundations/setting sprays to see if it works better with them. RRP £7.99
  • Barry M All Night Long Concealer (Milk)  - I saw this concealer on Jordana Ticia's Instagram and she described it as a dupe for the NARS concealer apparently. Now, I haven't tried the NARS one yet but if an amazing MUA recommends it and it's also under a fiver then of course I'm going to pick it up. So far so good, I've been using this concealer non stop since I bought it! It's quite a bright concealer so conceals my under eyes and any blemishes really well but I also like the consistency of the product because it doesn't seem that thick yet the coverage is great and definitely lasting. Only problem is that it does crease a little under my eye but I have found that with majority of my concealers so it's a minor problem for me. Definitely recommend this though! RRP £4.49
  • NYX Lingerie Gloss (Butter) - Considering I didn't like the formulas of the liquid lipstick from this range because it didn't last and cracked considerably quick, I am really enjoying the gloss. I am more of a gloss girl I know however I LOVE this! It reminds me of a hybrid child from Maybelline Vivid Hot Laquer and Jordana Ticia's Friend Zone Gloss. The colour is quite a muted, cool toned brown and it literally smells like butter. I will 100% be picking up more from this range. RRP £7
  • MUR Oil Control Fixing Spray - I'm broke ok and I needed a setting spray so when I saw this bare cheap, I knew I had to get it. I've seen a few people mention how good this is and don't get me wrong, I've been using it everyday since I bought it to really test the waters however it's not as good as the trusty UD all nighter spray. It holds my make up in place for a good few hours mind but I do still get oily towards the end of the working day which is annoying. If you have any more recommendations of oil control fixing spray, please let me know below! RRP £5
  • Collection Lipliner (Cappucino) - I said in my last post that I was in Superdrug looking for a new brown lipliner and this is the one I got. It's one of those twisty up ones haha which means I don't have to sharpen *bonus* and it's very VERY creamy. Similar colour to the Rimmel Cappucino liner (suspicious that they're the same name) but I think more pigmented. RRP £2.79

As you can see, the most expensive product here was the primer at £7.99 so I'm proud of the little bargains I had picked up and they are all stuff that I NEEDED anyway.... I've linked them all incase you wanted to pick any up but if you have any recommendations of drugstore products that you think I should buy, please let me know as I'm trying to do make up on a budget at the moment *sobs*.
Thank you for reading,

  1. I'm always going to be a drugstore gal at heart, mostly because there are endless incredible products there and it goes to show that affordable makeup can also be incredible.

  2. Spending ban? Sounds a lot like me to be honest - I've been trying to limit as much as I can but I always seem to give in! x Some really wonderful choices here - the Maybelline Baby Skin was my first ever primer and really does remind me of a budget Porefessional from Benefit because it's a fraction of the cost and does a similar job for my larger pores. I'm also looking right at the lip liner as it's a stunning colour - I can't live without Chestnut by Mac but it's mad expensive so I might pick this one up! x
